September 6, 2005 SBNA Meeting Minutes
Wildflower Park in River Rim
7:00 – 8:30pm
Mike Lovely, Joe Barry, Rod Cathcart and Seana Barry in attendance.
- Mike Lovely called the meeting to order at 7:30pm.
- Reading and approval of July meeting minutes.
- Mike, Dianne, and Seana were at the August 2 SBNA board meeting which was purely informational.
- Joe Barry reported $2914.55 in the treasury.
- Murphy Crossing Update – Wendy made presentation of Preferred Alternative Linear Park Version 2, the plan the SBNA board supports, to Bend City Council who approved it. The Planning Commission will take it from here.
- Mike wrote a letter and made presentation on running a Frontage Rd all the way down to Baker Rd at the MPO(Metropolitan Planning Organization) meeting. The county is in the process of updating Buck Canyon Rd.
- Mike Schmidt is the new Chamber of Commerce CEO. Mike Lovely talked with him about the neighborhood associations joining the Chamber. Mike Schmidt suggested giving the NA’s a group rate. Mike Schmidt will be a guest speaker at the next Chairs and Officers meeting.
- Boyd Acres NA and Mountain View NA gave update on Cooley Rd overpass, Juniper Ridge, etc at the last Chairs and Officers meeting. Mike gave SBNA board members handouts from that meeting.
- Update on River Canyon Estates code violations – not getting a response from the Community Development Committee – supposed to be a meeting.
- Cell phone tower legal notices in newspaper. Mike to monitor. Let Mike know if anyone sees a notice. One cell phone tower is going in by clubhouse at River Canyon Estates.
- September 12 – public hearing on development code. 5pm – 7pm
- Mike to write a letter to MPO Committee showing interest in developing a citizens advisory committee.
- Fall Membership meeting to be held Oct 11 at Elk Meadow School. Seana to send contract back reserving gym.
- Homestead Sewer Update – project might be put off until Spring 2006. Mike talked with a contractor interested in doing whole project. Mike talked with Ron Wyden about funding – he will follow up with David Blair.
- Land Use App – 16 lot subdivision on Porcupine St.
- Meeting adjourned at 8:30pm
