The Murphy Corridor Study
The City of Bend Public Works Department has hired a consultant, CM2H Hill to act as project manager for the Murphy Corridor Study, an effort to modernize Murphy Road and eventually extend it from Business 97 east to 27th street. The Project Manager, CH2M Hill has conducted several meetings for the public to update the public on the project status and to solicit public comments relative to Murphy Corridor.
The latest meeting by the Project Manager was an Open House for the public held on October 11, 2007, at 4:00 pm at the Bend Golf and Country Club. This meeting presented the latest information on five alternatives being considered for Murphy Corridor, aerial photos showing these routes, criteria used to score the alternatives and the relative scoring of each alternative.
The Project Manager stated that, after consideration and incorporation of public comment where appropriate, the next step would be for the Project Manager to appear before the Bend City Council on November 7, 2007 and submit to the council their recommendation for the configuration for the Murphy Corridor upgrade.
