·         What OFDNA Has Accomplished To Date


  • Negotiated with Bend Planning Department resulting in required notification to neighborhood associations of developments within their borders
  • Conducted and published survey on Reed Market Road prior to official study
  • Representative has attended numerous neighborhood meetings with developers
  • Advised various homeowners of their rights in dealing with developers
  • Representative and/or board members have attended monthly combined Neighborhood Association Officers and Chairs meetings
  • Although just outside OFDNA boundary, tire recycling project at county landfill was a concern. Representative monitored progress and stoppage of that project.
  • Communicated with Bend Metro Parks and Recreation urging acquisition of park land in OFDNA region
  • Wrote letter to Lava Crest Development urging sale of park land to Bend Metro Parks and Recreation
  • Communicated with Bend-LaPine school board urging recognition of major additions to school population in Southeast Bend
  • Representative attended Deschutes County’s Water Study Forum for Deschutes basin
  • Participated in two weed pull programs organized by Orchard NA, attacking noxious weeds in the area
  • Applied for and received permission to adopt Ferguson Road in Adopt-A-Road program
  • Organized semi-annual meetings attended by city officials to inform citizens of progress on Reed Market Road project, identity theft, identifying drug houses, and fire protection around home
  • Updated web page and membership list
  • Requested and received additional funds from city budget for all neighborhood associations to pay for mailing and communication with members
  • Contacted businesses within the boundaries to join OFDNA
  • Communicated with nearby NA’s about items of mutual interest (development, traffic, etc.)
  • Joined Chamber of Commerce to stay informed of business developments
  • Instrumental in establishing Board of Boards to unify NA’s on common causes
  • Representative participated in Hwy 97/20 planning

What OFDNA Is Working On


  • Organizing and preparing for publication a flyer that explains OFDNA’s work in the community
  • Communicating with other NA’s regarding plans for South 3rd commercial district
  • Preparing survey for upcoming Murphy Road project
